Level 1 · Lesson 3 deep dive

The T-Push

The goalie's fastest way across the crease. Look, point, push, glide, stop and set, and why swinging your arms slows you down.

The T-push is for longer moves to the side. From your stance, turn your head, shoulders and hands toward where you're going. Then turn your lead skate to point there too, so your skates make a "T." Push hard with the inside edge of your back skate and glide on your lead skate, staying low with your chest up and stick on the ice. Stop by turning the lead skate back and pressing its inside edge, and square up to the puck as you stop.
